Post-op blues

Merlin had his operation today. They found his missing testicle in his tummy and removed both carefully, but he has several incisions and a large shaved area. Much bigger op than the quick snip boy dogs usually have. And three hundred quid.

He has eaten his tea and been out for a wee, but apart from that is very snoozy. He was under the anaesthetic for a long time as he also needed some x-rays. It appears he has elbow dysplasia, so will probably develop arthritis aged 3 or 4 and need drugs for always. The x rays have gone off for a 2nd opinion. Thank heavens for pet insurance.

Molly had to come with me to work today rather than be left on her own, she had a great day of new experiences and people to lick followed by a run in the woods and then another walk later, to wear her out so she'll leave Merlin alone.

Merlin has to have ten days of quiet and short walks on the lead. Quiet! With 2 puppies! I don't think so!

Get well soon little fella. I've promised him he can sleep on my bed tonight and have given him my favourite blanket to lie on. Soft? ME? Yeah!
