Down Tools!

Before I started this job I tempted for a couple of months. At 5 o'clock, on the dot, one of my colleagues used to announce "down tool's" and off he went. The whole place would be empty by five past the hour. I've never worked anywhere like that before or since. However, it did make me smile today to see how quickly everyone cleared out of the office. No one is ever very keen to stay late on a Friday but this week has felt particularly long so there was no lingering.
