Three Sisters

I was uptown today running a few errands, and stopped by to visit the Three Sisters. This historic landmark once guided ships into the busy port, pointing the way to safe harbour. The glorious days of sail are long past, but this beacon has been recently renovated, so the lights - white on the city side and red on the opposite side, where it faces out to sea - are once again visible to mariner and wanderer alike.

So I wandered down to the end of town - carefully, that is, on very icy sidewalks - to see the view, admire the glimpses of sun peaking through the clouds, and look out toward the open Bay beyond, as sailors' sweethearts would have done not so long ago.
