Sorry listened to far too many Terry Wogan jokes about it.

Standing on the banks of the River Wye it is the ruins of a Cisterctian monastery built in 1136, of old red sandstone. The decay began in the reign of Henry VIII with his Dissolution of the Monasteries which ended monastic life in England and Wales.
