exploring

A frosty morning, a bright day, an afternoon in the garden...

This evening BAT came by and we went to explore the little island I had been shown. It's called Gokane Point and is the little headland between Toe head and Baltimore. We had a bit of a scramble through a briar patch and barbed wire and then crossed a narrow shingly beach onto the island.
This the view from its far side, Kedge Island and the Spain tower in the distance. It was sobering to find seaweed and other debris and to realise that in the recent wild weather the sea had been right up to the spot where I stood to take this shot.

It was still quite breezy, but we thought it would be good to go back there on a calmer day and try to get down to some of the intriguing looking rock pools we could see.

Tonight the wind is roaring again, the wild weather is back.
