Beech trees

Off to Dumfries-shire to visit Barbara, an old friend who was once my boss- about 40 years ago! The light in this area always seems to be fantastic, so I'm very excited. However it turns out to be persistent mist which turns into persistent rain. This stand of beech seemed to be unphased. We go out to lunch at the Anchor Inn in Kippford. Last week they had the sea lapping their wood fire in the snug; today the sandbags look unwanted in the rain.
