Northern Lighthouse Board, West Harbour Road

I have walked or, as a kid been driven past the lighthouse in Granton hundreds of times, but I never really knew what this building was for, imagining that maybe it once was much closer to the shore...as it happens I found out that this was a store for the Northern Lighthouse Board and was also used to test out new lamps

I also read that there was a bullet hole in one of the panes in the lighthouse section from a WWII Luftwaffe plane!
