Ball games allowed

We hear moans that kids no longer get out to play and are glued to their latest electronic device. Many kids know how to work a computer and download an app before they know how to tie their laces.

Which is why I get infuriated when I see one particular sign: No ball games allowed.

How often do you see a plot of land, unused, with green grass, begging to be played on yet empty and soulless save for one sign, a football with a cross through it.

I was heartened to see the above in Crosshill Fife. Let the children play.
