To Download a Family Tree

I have never done it before but today a kind gentleman has put on his website a family tree that I have been working on for a couple of years.

This is done through the Guild of One Name Studies (known affectionately as GOONS). The studies do not work for common surnames like Wood or Williams but in this case it works for the surname Speak.

It is thought that this family from Calderdale may have very early connections to the area called Speke near Liverpool.

This brings me remorselessly to the old joke:-

Lady to bus conductor:- "Is this bus going to Speke"
Conductor:- "Not yet madam, but we live in hope"
