The most beautiful . . .

. . . bookshop in London. That’s how it describes itself, and I have to say I’m sure they are right. Daunt Books is an original Edwardian bookshop on Marylebone High Street, with long oak galleries and graceful skylights. I was trying to show that in this picture, but the light flooding in from the said skylights made it quite difficult. This is a bookshop designed for travellers who read. So it is arranged by country with a huge range of guides, but then lower shelves full of non-fiction and fiction books related that specific country. A shop to spend many hours in and come out with a new stock of books . . . placed in a beautiful cotton bag. Heaven, as far as I’m concerned.

We then made our way across to Crouch End (on the 91 naturally!) and met up with our daughter and her husband and Coopers the dog. They took us to see their new flat, which is very close to Alexandra Palace. A lovely place. And a great evening catching up (they got back late last night from a two week trip to Auckland and Sydney.)

We return north tomorrow and I will catch up with everyone then.
