Trollhaugen (The Joy of Edges)

We went downhill skiing, for a change, at Trollhaugen (Troll Heaven). Only 300ft vertical, and strange to see the fields and barns dotted about the Wisconsin countryside from the top of the hill. I'm used to seeing mountains. The day almost started in disaster, as Mr. Lightwave's 20-yr old ski boots chose today to disintegrate and he was shedding bits of red plastic all over the hill. Finally, a problem that could not be solved with duct tape, and new boots had to be bought. I'm getting the old ones bronzed so we can display them on the mantelpiece. Apart from this we had a terrific day, and we even saw a troll!
