It's a Journey....

Graceful Landing

On our way home we stopped in Monticello MN to see Swan Park. Hundreds of Trumpeter Swans stay here on the Mississippi River through the winter. This part of the river is open because of a power plant near by. A local resident feeds corn to the swans every day and takes collections at this viewing site. I took hundreds of photos and was quite happy with many of them. I was particularly interested in how synchronized the swans flew and landed in groups as these two are doing.
At one point a man came down the river in a raft and all of a sudden the swans and Canada Geese took off flying down-river. What a sight that was! Here is part of that. Eventually they started coming back a few at a time. I also added this one to my blipfolio.
