Checkerberry

or Galtharia procumbens, American Wintergreen. A jolly little plant that I keep on the kitchen windowsill. It flowers from June to September and then produces these red berries that persist from September to March.

I had a back tooth out this morning. And the weather was dismal. Not feeling like being adventurous, I got out the new macro lens for the XE-1 and took some photos of the checkerberry. Definitely need to get a remote cable for the XE-1.
