Last light

We've not seen much light today - a dreich affair, grey and wet. Until I was standing on Gourock pier, waiting for the ferry, and realised that the grey clouds overhead were strangely tinted, as if there was a great fire somewhere over the hill out of sight.

By the time I reached Dunoon, the sun that had obviously had such an effect had set, and all that was left was the pale glow of a clear sky somewhere south of us, well out of reach.

At least it had stopped raining ...
