Life through the lens...

By ValC

Catch of the day!

A lovely sunny morning, and decided to visit Old Moor RSPB reserve in the Dearne Valley.

I was quite pleased with this shot of the great crested grebe which had just dived and brought up this fish, plus bits of weed!
( It was quite away off , so not as clear as I would have liked)

Among other birds which we saw were a male and female golden eye. Something I have only seen a couple of times before.

This is one of the friendliest of RSPB reserves.
They have a good shop and a lovely café. All homemade food, including the delicious tomato soup which we had for lunch.

We were lucky with the weather, as it was sunny most of the day, and only started raining when we got back in the car.

Almost the weekend again!

Just noticed last years blip and how cold it was this time last year!
