Georgian granduer

This area always reminds me of the film Notting hill.
It was created in 1835 by William Morley who was so impressed with elegant garden squares in London that he decided to build his own on the main thoroughfare to London. When King George V died in 1936 the gardens were renamed in his honour. There are quite a few examples of Georgian architecture in this area and I am sure that the people who lived in them in the 1800's felt very grand indeed. Sadly, most of them have been turned into offices now.

I was killing time in this area today because I was waiting for Conventboy2 to take his Driving Theory Test. Happily he passed so we came straight home and booked his practical test. Another 6 weeks to practice! Eek!!!!
