Spiritus

(an ode to) Scaffold tubes

I rest thee heavily on my shoulder
But you only seem to get colder

I swing you to, I swing you fro
You seem heavier than earlier, did you grow?

I lay thee down as gentle as can be
Yet you clang and holler and the birds flee

I make a fist and grasp you tightly
This is not a task one could take lightly

The day is done and perhaps I'm stronger
Well at the very least my arms are longer
