Crockery cuneiform

Along the shore you find fragments of crockery. Some will be domestic, some from the military caterers of two world wars. I thought this one had a crackled effect that looked like ancient script.
I'd gone back to the Brig o' Waithe hoping to see the otter family there. No luck at first, but then I saw the two young ones playing in the Loch of Stenness and they were soon joined by their mother. They were all very energetic and exuberant. They were catching eels, porpoising, climbing out for a rest, all very interesting. Too far, unfortunately, for photos.
