Darnley Sycamore

Way out west today to Renfrewshire to see my aunt and parents, where I blipped the Darnley Sycamore, surprisingly, at Darnley in Glasgow.

Mary Queen of Scots is said to have nursed her sick husband, Henry Stuart, the Earl of Darnley, under this magnificent Plane (Sycamore is the English name for the species) tree at Darnley. Reputedly, this happened in 1547, although there may be some doubt as to whether this tree is possibly that old.

Anyway, now watching 'The Voice' having just scoffed our 3 Bean Cassoulet for tea.

Hope everyone has had a good Saturday.
