Frosty Morning

Day 3 of our spring cruise with Solace.

We were on the Caldon canal and woke to a heavy frost with parts of the canal covered with a thin skim of ice. It was a beautiful clear sunny day and moving along the canal to the sound of the gentle crunching of ice was a new experience.

Before we untied from the mooring I noticed the lines had developed a thick layer of ice crystals. Not being used to these conditions I took a shot of the bow line. Out of the many shots I took I narrowed the choice down to 10but the rope(sorry line) finally won.
