Peat smoke

When we put on a fire, we burn peat. This morning started off with a strong wind, but it dropped mid-morning and I put a fire on. The smell of peat burning is *lovely* but, surprisingly, when you live with it all the time, you hardly notice it - I seem to notice wood or coal burning more readily - but the smoky aroma be very evocative!
