Fossil hunting

Day 2 - the coastal walk from Staithes. We raced the tide, no time to look in the rock pools or gaze at the cormorants, no, just keep walking kids! Finally we got to a safe spot and had some time to hunt for fossils. The weather has been stormy which no doubt accounted for the magnificent fossils the kids found. Then on again to Port Mulgrove for a picnic by the crashing waves.
We then had to climb up to the top of the cliffs via what can only be described as a near vertical mudslide! If I hadn't had my walking sticks, I swear I would be there still! No idea how the kids managed it but they did and without any complaints too bless em.
Then back to Staithes in a kind of mud telemarking kind of way!
We finished up with a fascinating tour of the lifeboat station which ended for the teachers in being togged up in a lifeboat suit and then hosed down by the kids! They were such good sports!
