Take that

Today, we were in Perth at an orienteering event with a twist. It was a mixed sprint relay in the grounds of Perth College. This is a new discipline for world orienteering championships from 2014, and as Scotland is the venue for the championships in 2015, this was a practice. Sadly the weather was damp and dark so photography was difficult. The relay is in 4 legs, female, male, male and then female. This is Claire, one of the top women, on leg 1 pointing her electronic SI card at the control, which records her presence. Usually the SI card has to actually touch the control, but this type works on proximity; within 1.2 metres for the controls in use today.
