This is my; half-cut-post-12-Years-A-Slave-thoughtful-but-still-a-twat-2am selfie.

So, the film? Like I said to a pal; Rough. The brutality I can handle, nothing new and certainly not gratuitous. But the emotional side was like a broadside. The XXXXXXXXX XX XX XXX XXXXX X XXXX was the stuff of nightmares.

Utterly beautiful at a cinematic level, gorgeous colour, top of the line acting, editing pretty perfect. Fully recommended. I didn't find the brutality too full on. The emotional side? Well, that was like a juggernaut, smacked me slap bang in the face 3 times throughout the film with a peak at the final scene.
