Beams

in a sunbeam darkly
her cat thoughts fume
and thaw
her golden suit recharging
toasted warmth
her needs restored




We had a walk to take our minds off the fact that the Saab, loaded for the weekly dump trip refused to start. No engine light, computer message says check okay, but it won't fully turn over. Blah, blah blah, it's only a car, we'll have AAA tow it to the shop tomorrow and proceed from there.

Big football game, I'm watching and reading and thankful we didn't take the car to Maine. The last time we drove it on Friday evening, it was perfect.

This day came in cold with an early burst of snow. Bright crisp skies prevailed.
