The unexpected legacy of the samurai...
The Japanese have the legacy of a Samurai tradition of making keen blades that were the best in the world. So, how to diversify in the modern world?
This is Irene having her hair cut by Riccardo. I know that he usually has hand forged hairdressing shears crafted by specialist artisans in Japan, the keepers of at least part of the Samurai tradition. I know that they usually cost many hundreds of pounds. But these are special, he tells me. He usually has 5 star blades but these are Matsuzaki 6 star. I hate to think what they must have cost, but more than that I appreciate a little more the craftsmanship of the maker.....and the cutter.
