Horse Art

Every time I visit my friend Andy Scott in his studio in Glasgow I am blown away by the skill and scale of his work.
Andy first shot to national prominence when he made the Heavy Horse on the M8 on the outskirts of Glasgow. 4.5 metres tall it is seen by hundreds of thousands of commuters every week.
Since then Andy has confirmed his reputation as Scotland's foremost sculptor with works in Ireland, Australia, Europe, the USA and across Scotland including the magnificent Kelpies near Falkirk. The Kelpies are the largest works of art in Scotland and the largest equine sculptures in the world.
For more information about his work have a look at Andy's website: http://www.scottsculptures.co.uk
Today's blip shows Andy working on his next assignment - a family of horses for a private client in the USA.
Every piece of metal is painstakingly cut and attached to the main frame by hand - incredibly intricate work for sculptures that stand several metres tall.
Andy Scott is a unique talent.
