SOLITARY TREE

The Professor says January seems to have lasted about a year. The V.I.P. was not keen to get out of bed this morning. I am in sympathy with both of them.

I chose the walk this afternoon. Longing for a broader vista not hemmed in with hedges I suggested Locher Woods - bad mistake. It was decidedly claggy underfoot. At one point it almost turned into a gorge walk.
