Winding gear

After a late night and a lie-in this morning, Tom cooked breakfast - American pancakes topped with butter, bacon and maple syrup - yum! (Though Mr M had reservations about this, being rather an old-fashioned traditional English breakfast sort of chap!) With lashings of coffee, of course.

Another murky, drizzly sort of day, so we managed only a short, muddy walk by the Tweed from Norham Bridge. Went as far as the old winding gear once used by the salmon fishers' to haul in the nets.

Big roast lamb dinner in the evening, followed by a microwaved sponge pudding and creamy custard. The sensible eating starts again tomorrow!
