Penguin Awareness Day

I have just found out that today is Penguin Awareness Day.

Many years ago a colleague had a model of a penguin on her desk. For some reason, some colleagues thought it was mine and so I got a reputation for being a penguin lover. Since then, they have, at various times, brought me models of penguins and postcards and greetings cards with pictures of penguins on and also the little fellow in the pic. He was a free, give away with Persil* when the film Happy Feet came out.
