Daimyo Oak

When deciduous trees are bare, one must be thankful for any leaves on branches and the Daimyo Oak (Quercus dentate ‘Carl Ferris Miller’) does not disappoint. Leaves that are 8 to 10 inches long and 5 inches wide, turn to beautiful warm brown after their autumn apricot tones and stay on the tree throughout the winter. Our tree was badly damaged in an ice storm a couple of years ago, so I am doubly delighted that it is thriving and delighting us with its striking winter foliage.
