Flint

Most of the old houses in Norfolk are built of a mixture of brick and flint. The flints were laid in rows or courses, as you can see. Flint is still used as a facade in new builds but rarely laid in courses. The poshest buildings have knapped flint exteriors; flint which has been neatly split open to produce a flat face.
Anyway here's a bit of my wall.
