Sandwich

I gave myself the morning off today, to train into Brisbane, meet a friend and visit the art galleries. I picked this day as the forecast was for slightly cooler temperatures. They were actually quite a lot lower as a huge rain belt stormed across the south-east of Queensland resulting in flash floods in some areas. I just got the last train home not delayed by the weather. Queensland is certainly a place of extremes!

Most of the day's pics were taken while under an umbrella though there was a lull for a while as I walked up Elizabeth Street, central Brisbane. I like the juxtaposition of architectural styles on this street, St.Stephen's Cathedral sandwiched between plate-glass office buildings.
