The Gathering

Went to be early resolved to get an early start the next day. About 11:30 I was in the bathroom sick. Woke at 5:15 to another day of 8 below weather.

Dropped my son off at school. Returned to the Fox where steam was rising off the water and the sun was rising on an old steel bridge. Buried the car in a drift. Standing out on a wafer of ice, listening to the cracking all around, waiting for the sun to rise above the bridge. The weatherman said that frostbite would set in 15 minutes. That was 20 minutes ago.

Found these cottonwoods waiting with me. The sun never did bless my bridge. I wore my frostbite like a mask. The car was running, I had my shot and someplace to get warm..
