Half Mast

All around St Ives the flags were at half mast today in respect for the 75th anniversary of the loss of the lifeboat and 6 of her 7 crew on the 23rd January 1939.

There was a service in the salvation army citadel, next door to the old lifeboat house for the family of the crew and the current RNLI volunteers and crew, followed by the traditional pasties and tea.
