Winter Fragrance

A number of years ago, I planted several Viburnum x bodnantense shrubs. Their appeal was intensely fragrant little pink flowers in the winter. The plants have been awkward little sticks for years and years with a few random little tufts of pink showing up now and then during winter. This year, nearly a decade after planting, these shy bloomers are full of exquisitely spicy scented flowers. Patience is certainly a good quality for a gardener.
