Gotcha

Out this morning for sunrise again with the camera in a rucksack.

I've chased these little waders along the shoreline as the sun lights them up gold a bunch of times but they're such skittish little blippers its hard to get a photo of them. Today I had a 300mm zoom with me and ran off a whole heap of shots.

Consequently, even after I'd eliminated all the shots where they'd nipped out of focus too quick for me, I still spent longer than I'd like sifting through and trying to decide. This shot doesn't convey their tiny scale or speed but I like the three horizontal strips it seems to be split into and the way he'd fluffed his feathers up as he/she was chasing off a rival.
