Long Tailed Duck

Burghead continues to churn out the goodies. On a rather dull day I decided to call in while passing as I wanted to try out my new variable nd filter for long exposures. Mission accomplished so I popped down to the harbour to see if there were any different birds. Low and behold there was a group of male and female long tailed ducks. We did see some last year but these were an obliging group as I hid behind a bollard, which doubled as a camera support, they came in quite close and rather than just swim around were quite actively displaying for a bit.
