Here They Come!

The Am. Goldfinches are flying out of the forest to visit the bird feeders today. I am glad (I guess) that I braved yesterday's cold to refill the feeders for the new visitors. Seeing this cluster of Goldfinches in their winter drab feathers gives me hope for the spring to come. They must sense the lengthening daylight.
The chickadees are here all the time, bless them.

The thermometer is going up a little bit now. We are enjoying experiencing +3ºF (-16ºC) right now. It is still -7º F with the windchill. Dressing warmly to go out for more bird seed today. Of course this photo was blipped through two panes of glass.
