Chasing cars!

Nope not the Snow Patrol song of the same title but me legging it down George St this morning trying to catch a glimpse of this GT40 remake :-)
I eventually caught up @ the lights on Castle St.
This is such a nice car.
I heard it long before I saw it.
The rumble growl of the engine echoing off the high buildings was something else.
I know, it's a remake, but what a nice job all the same!
Stirs all kinds of petrol head feelings and thoughts of the days when racing was all guts and glory.
The real GT40 was created by Ford to beat the dominant Ferraris @ Le Mans in the 60's.
These were the days when racing teams employed all kinds of underhand tactics and threw everything they had at winning.
If you want a taste of what was happening at the time I'd recommend 'Go Like Hell' by A. J. Baime.
First time I read it I just couldn't put it down :-)

Oh yeah, it's chucking it down this evening!
