Rosalie McKee

Great, great grandfather was Two Eyed Jack (1961) the leading all time sire of American Quarter Horse Association Champions and a descendant of Old Sorrel (1915), who was the foundation of the King Ranch Quarter Horses. King Ranch in Texas is probably THE Quarter Horse ranch and I was lucky enough to visit it back in 1998.

The McKee bit comes from a 1935 born mare, Sadie McKee.

Rosalie probably comes after a good night at a Munich bar.

Rosie is a Bavarian, American Quarter Horse, born 1995 just south of Munich.

The name Quarter Horse comes from them being the fastest horses over a quarter mile. Our two Arabs would laugh at 440 yards, they don't start getting warm until 10 miles and only up to working temperature at 20.

Todays Blip was difficult, holding the reins and a camera, especially as it was after the ride and she wanted to get her reward. However as always she was disappointed - she has some unknown allergy/disease and the only help so far has been cutting out all sugars and starches eg grain.

Here she is sweaty, not because she did much but because the weather is relatively warm and she has her winter coat.
