National Trust Outing

As it's been rather wet and was due to rain again later today, we decided a proper walk wasn't really on the cards. So we opted for a mini walk and a day out to Attingham Park near Shrewsbury.

It's a stately home with extensive parkland owned by the National Trust.

We walked around the estate in the morning. The weather was glorious with blue skies and warm sun. We opted for a short tour of parts of the house in the afternoon. Boy, did we time that well. Just as we gathered for the tour inside the Orangery, the heavens opened. It wasn't just rain, it was hail and thunder and lightning!! In January??

This is a shot from the front of the house. I may be back as the snowdrops will be arriving soon...
