I was in Dundee today and called into HEAD which is the outlet for ZAAVI's insolvency.

Lots of bargains to be had as they continue to try to sell off stock to cover the company's debts.

When a company is sequestrated a chartered accountant is appointed by the court to manage the company's finances.

They initially assess whether a) the company can be saved or b) if there are any assets to dispose of to recoup funds to cover the company debts.

They also assess if any of the company officials are guilty of any criminal misconduct in the period of twelve months leading up to the sequestration - usually asset stripping or phoenixing.

FOPP, for instance, was sold off in part to HMV who continue to run a couple of branches.

ZAAVI didn't fair as well and was wound up and what stock not sold to other businesses is being sold off over the counter.

Hence a shop that was previously ZAAVI in Dundee with an identical logo selling off the stock but under the trading name of HEAD.

It's a sad sorry state of affairs but all too common these days unfortunately.

Keen to help the cause I relieved them of

The Hives - Black & White Album (not bad)
David Holmes - The Holy Pictures (astonishing brilliance)
Devendra Banhart - Smokey Rolls Down Thunder Canyon (can't believe I got this for £3!)
The Cure - Faith (a classic)

for the fine sum of ten of your English pounds.

Culture Vulture.
