So I took my 40D to the shop to be repaired. I borrowed D2's camera. It was nice not having to think about settings. I haven't used a point and shoot in a while. I would like to get one as a back up for those moments I don't have time for manual settings. Since I took my photography course I almost always use manual. (Sometimes, I think I took better pictures before). It's a daily mini competition with myself to see if my pictures are better than before.
