A quiet Australia Day.

Emma came to visit this morning and did her patriotic duty on the way here ~ she bought a packet of lamingtons for our morning tea.

For those of you who live overseas and may not have heard of lamingtons, they are a small square plain cake, coated in chocolate syrup then rolled in coconut, and very Australian.

We had no special plans for celebrating Australia Day today, other than to spend a quiet day at home, with me at the sewing machine, catching up on sewing some school shirts to be delivered on Tuesday, and Emma writing some of her favourite recipes into her new recipe book.

Emma is in the kitchen now, making spinach cannelloni for our dinner (not very Australian!) but needs my help to fill the tubes with the mixture she has just prepared, but I'll be back later....
