Rain

We've arrived in the rainy season. Mwanza is in northern Tanzania, on the south shore of Lake Victoria, and the scenery can be beautiful. I love to watch the rain come in (and then go again, leaving bright sunshine behind).

Hannah is a bit poorly, bless her, and no wonder after the mega journey and the huge change of environment. We are staying with Emma's family, in a small 3 bedroom house - 8 adults, 2 children - but at least the house is fairly modern with electricity, running (cold) water and inside toilet.

It's still quite hard to believe we are here, its been 3 1/2 years since me and the lasses last visited. The town has changed a bit, there is a surprising amount of buidling going on, but the basics are the same.

We have dished out some of the things we have brough over - we spend the time between visits collecting clothing, shoes especially, from charity shops, and other goodies that are hard to get, or are very poor quality over here. This explains the amount of luggage, we use every gram of our allowance as it means so much to the family here, who have very little, although more than many. When we go home, we will go with much less than we came with.
