Gillipaw's Journal

By Gillipaw

JJ Gilmour & Graeme Duffin

Playing at The Glad Cafe in Shawlands, along with pianist Phil Kane. Take a wee listen to some of JJ's tracks here.

What a brilliant night. I haven't laughed so much in a long time. JJ is a superb singer/songwriter, used to play with The Silencers way back when. So much humour in his storytelling between the songs. Great interaction between Jinky, Graeme and Phil. The place was packed out. So good to have such quality events happening locally on the southside of Glasgow.

It was a tough call as Celtic Connections had a huge Burns Celebration on at The Hydro (which we've recorded), and "Cherish the Ladies" were on at the Royal Concert Hall. Anyway JJ won.

A special day for our family too, an early morning call to say we are Great Aunt and Uncle again. A Burns Day baby, no doubt some haggis and ceilidh parties in years to come. Congratulations to A & M!
