Blessing of the Animals

Today we had noisy church. There were yips and barks and meows (no birds or ferrets or iguanas this year), and it was amusing to see pointed ears in the congregation, or tall waving tails appearing just above pew height. Our annual Blessing of the Animals service attracts quite an interesting crowd!

For the first year ever, we decided not to take our dogs to church. Last year there was a bit of naughty behaviour and we decided not to stress over watching every single move they (or another animal) made. Sometimes I think it would be nice to have a lap dog!

So we brought photos of the 2 dogs & cat - on my iPhone - for virtual blessing by Rev Jennifer. And since I had the phone in hand, I managed to get a few pictures as well. There were lots of well-behaved animals today and extra time for socializing by human and animal - the best kind of church!
