Gold

A busy day with quite a few comings and goings, but found an hour this afternoon to check out a local report of 328 (!) Golden Plover. Sure enough, there they were in the middle of a large field about 2 miles from our house. Big lens and cropping involved. Not so much a good shot, more a reminder of a wonderful spectacle, especially when they took off and re-landed. there were also about 50 lapwing and a kestrel. Why do Golden Plover always face the same way?
