Homework

The smile on the kid's face is deceptive. Homework time is always a tense time in our house. I have long disagreed with the amount of homework the kid gets every week. Don't get me wrong, I think parents should take an active interest in education, but there are better ways than hours of compulsory homework every week. The kid enjoys writing stories and practicing maths. He spends a lot of his spare time practicing what he has learnt at school. Put his homework book in front of him, though, and he freezes. The stress of having to do it and the prospect of his teacher marking his efforts gets too much.
